Despite the emergencies due to the rains, the Government of President Nayib Bukele has not lost sight of the COVID-19 pandemic. Actions to combat the virus and care for patients confirmed with the disease have continued to develop.

On Thursday 141 new confirmed cases were detected, which means that the figure has remained relatively stable despite the emergencies by Amanda, Cristóbal, Eta and Iota.

El Salvador has been recognized by the international community for being one of the countries in the world that best handled the health crisis in the 11 months that the virus has been circulating.

The high degree of efficiency demonstrated by government institutions contributes to the protection of the health of the population and to react in time in the areas where high rates of infections were reported.

The collaboration of the majority of the population with the implementation of basic barrier methods against the virus, such as the use of a mask, alcohol gel, hand washing with soap and water, among others, as well as compliance biosafety protocols within commercial establishments.
