Currently to avoid the spread of Covid-19, Colombia has been since September 1st and is currently in a “Selective Isolation” phase until September 30. The government is analyzing whether the country should continue in this stage or not. The government’s declared Public Health Emergency is issued through November 30.

Bogota continues to be the region most affected by the pandemic, although in recent weeks the contagion has decreased, and the Hospital’s Intensive Care Units have seen lower numbers of patients. In the capital, its gradual reopening has begun, for example, restaurants can now open from Wednesday to Sunday.

International flights. Colombia is considering asking for travelers on international flights to present a negative PCR test for Covid-19, like policies found in other countries do. The first international flight to Colombia since the pandemic started, will arrive in Cartagena from Fort Lauderdale (USA) and then on September 24 the Miami-Cartagena route will open.

The list of countries Colombia plans to open international routes to in the short term, in addition to the United States are the following: Mexico, Ecuador, Brazil, Bolivia and the United Kingdom, Australia and the Dominican Republic. These routes will open as soon as guidelines are issued and itineraries open. A possible second phase includes destination destinations located in the South American continent such as Guatemala, El Salvador, Peru, Chile, Uruguay, and Venezuela. Finally, flights to destinations such as Spain, Holland, France, Canada, Argentina and Cuba, territories that require special conditions for Colombian travelers to enter, are planned to open in a third phase.
