The Legislative Assembly of El Salvador extended a transitory decree that suspends mass concentrations in public and private events for 90 days and makes the use of masks mandatory.

The initiative to prevent the increase of contagions, also indicates that the realization of sporting, cultural and religious events, among others, will be subject to the evolution and certification made by the Ministry of Public Health.

For example, the Ministry of Health authorized the holding of the CONCACAF qualifying matches for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, but only fans who have completed the two doses of COVID-19 vaccine will be allowed to enter. To enter the state they have to present the vaccination record and wear masks all the time.

The transitory decree contemplates sanctions for non-compliance with the provisions for any person who calls, promotes or organizes concentrations with a penalty of between 20 and 100 urban minimum wages and the closure of the establishment during the validity of the regulations. The recently approved minimum wage is $ 365 per month.
