A total of 439,729 doses were delivered by the US Pfizer Company to the Mexican government. Before starting this vaccination massive plan in the country, the undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, Hugo López-Gatell announced that in the last 24 hours 4,032 people have been vaccinated in national lands, leading to a total of 92,879 health workers who the biological has already been applied.

According to the Vaccination Plan implemented by the Government of Mexico, the priority people to receive the vaccine, go from the first stage for health workers, people 80 years of age and over, until reaching under 40 as a last priority. These stages of vaccination are contemplated since last December, until March 2022, and are the following:

• First stage: December 2020 – February 2021, front-line health personnel.
• Second stage: February – April 2021, remaining health personnel and people aged 60 and over.
• Third stage: April – May 2021, people from 50 to 59 years old.
• Fourth stage: May – June 2021, people from 40 to 49 years old
•  Fifth stage: June – March 2022, rest of the population under 40 years of age.

Also, the Head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum reported that Mexico City will continue in a red light of the epidemiologic traffic light from January 18th to 24th, due to the continuing increase in hospitalizations in the capital.

Eduardo Clark, director of the Digital Agency for Public Innovation (ADIP), indicated that there are currently 9,677 people hospitalized in Mexico City, of which 2,301 are intubated.

For that reason, he presented the program: “Reactivate without risking”, which consists in opening restaurants and outdoor gyms, as well as essential businesses in the Historic Center that have a take-away service window. He also explained that this measure will begin on January 18th, and restaurants will only be able to have guests until 6:00 p.m., after that, they will only be allowed to provide take away service.

According with the epidemiological traffic light in the Mexican Republic, we have 6 states in red color, 21 states in orange, 3 states in yellow, and 2 states in green traffic light.

Mexico City, Estate of Mexico, Baja California, Michoacán, Guanajuato and Morelos are the estates on a red light.

In orange color we have the below estates such as: Aguascalientes, Baja California Sur, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Colima, Durango, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Nuevo León, Oaxaca, Querétaro, Quintana Roo, Nayarit, Puebla, Sonora, San Luis Potosí, Tabasco, Tlaxcala, Yucatán and Zacatecas.

In addition, the states in yellow light are: Sinaloa, Tamaulipas and Veracruz.

And Campeche and Chiapas are the estates in green.
