This is what it costs to live in the most wanted states in Mexico; Morelos, Queretaro and State of Mexico

Mexico City is still the most popular, expensive and demanded in the country, due to the concentration of offers and services in it. However, with the growing home office, other states have also become popular for having a good quality of life and cheaper.
The Lamudi Real Estate Report 2022, showed that during the 12 months of last year, the demand to buy or rent a home stood out in Morelos, the State of Mexico and Querétaro, with 159.1%, 116.9% and 107.3% each.
Property values have also risen. In the state of Queretaro, for example, in 2018 the cost per square meter of a house was 15,400 pesos, while in April 2022 it was 19,700, according to the platform.
The average price in the most popular areas is:
- The Marquis: 21,500 pesos.
- Queretaro: 19,700 pesos.
- Santa Rosa Jauregui: 17,500 pesos.
- Juriquilla: 17,300 pesos.
- Corregidor: 17,000 pesos.
- Huimilpan: 16,100 pesos.
- Santiago de Queretaro: 14,800 pesos.
- Paseo El Grande: 9,550 pesos.
- Pedro Escobedo: 8,940 pesos.
How much do houses cost in Morelos
Morelos has also become popular for permanent residence. Before, cities like Cuernavaca were visited on weekends due to the warm weather and its proximity to CDMX. Now these characteristics have made it an ideal place to telecommute.
In 2018, the cost per square meter was 9,500 pesos. For April of this year, around 13,400 pesos in the sale of houses.

- Emiliano Zapata: 16,000 pesos.
- Cuernavaca: 13,400 pesos.
- Xochitepec: 13,400 pesos.
- Jiutepec: 12,900 pesos.
- Yautepec: 8,090 pesos.
- Tepoztlan: 6,900 pesos.
- Huitzilac: 2,550 pesos.
- Miacatlan: 1,470 pesos.

How much do houses cost in the State of Mexico
The State of Mexico is one of the most densely populated areas. It ranks second nationally, only behind the country’s capital. Inegi data indicates that there are 760 people per square meter, however, the figure is still much lower than CDMX.
The trend had always been for people from the area to migrate to the metropolis to get closer to their places of work, but Lamudi’s figure shows that the opposite phenomenon is currently occurring.
In the area around Toluca, the capital, in 2018 the average price per square meter of a house was 11,600 pesos, while it is currently 15,000 pesos. The value for the most popular areas is:
- San Mateo Atenco: 22,900 pesos.
- Lerma: 21,100 pesos.
- Metepec: 20,900 pesos.
- Calimaya: 16,500 pesos.
- Zinacantepec: 13,600 pesos.
- Otzolotepec: 12,300 pesos.
- San Antonio The Island: 11,000 pesos.
- Almoloya de Juarez: 8,200 pesos.
