Two years ago, Mexico ranked 60th out of 190 in the world ranking that evaluates the ease of doing business in the Doing Business 2020 report, conducted by the World Bank Group. This indicator is a benchmark for the country, as it places it as the most competitive country for doing business in Latin America, as well as one of the most competitive among developing economies.

Particularly, it stands out in aspects related to procedures to start a new business, management of construction permits, investor protection, tax payment, access to credit and ease in foreign trade activities. Likewise, the report highlights the relevance of the implementation of specific reforms that allow speeding up the processes for the development of business in the country.
