Number of Contagions:56,653
Number of deaths: 1,719
El Salvador registers more than 50,000 people recovered from COVID-19, thanks to the efforts of health personnel facing the pandemic on the front line, an achievement that also confirms the correct decision of the Government of President Nayib Bukele to invest in the recovery of the 30 hospitals of the National Health System network and the construction of the Hospital El Salvador.
Despite the fact that none of the initiatives of the Executive to contain the spread of the virus achieved an echo in the rest of the State bodies, the Government has managed to control the disease.
To date, the contagion figures in the country are around 200, a low figure compared to other countries, where the curve of positive cases has not yet been lowered, and this has been achieved even with the increase in cases that occurred after the holidays at the close of 2020.
The constant days of disinfection in the 30 national hospitals and health units, the daily screenings throughout the territory and the medical days that the Ministry of Health carries out throughout the country to bring health services closer to the population, and raise awareness about the Compliance with biosafety and prevention measures are strategies that have given the country international recognition in handling the pandemic.
