To take advantage of its economic growth, the government has been developing a commercial work in the United States and the United Kingdom, especially for the Bird Festival that takes place every year and one of its goals is to put Cali, the host city of the Event, as the City of Birds, which has two high seasons, one from late November to the end of February and the second one, between July and August.
According to the Conservation Strategy Fund and the National Auduon Society research, up to 170,000 observers could travel to Colombia to see birds, and each of them would be willing to pay up to 350 dollars or oackage tours that can cost up to US $4,000 per person. Most of them have high incomes, they are older than 40 years andspend between 10 and 15 days for the observation of species, coming from the United States, Germany, Spain, Scotland or United Kingdom, where there are about 3 million of observers who enjoy the trills of the birds , of their colorful plumages and to know their habits
Birdwatching has become an important foreign trade earnings and one of the main reasons for the employment generation at the territories that have been damaged by the organized crime and have plenty of the lora and fauna. Colombia is also the fourth nation worldwide in biodiversity, it has the second largest number of amphibians (803 with 367 endemic), butterflies (3,274 with 350 endemics), orchids, with 4,270 species, of which 1,572 are unique (1,435 with 311 Endemic), third in palms (289 with 47 endemic) and reptiles (537 with 115 endemic) and the fourth in mammals (492 with 34 endemic).
